Guides on where to eat near the Circus Maximus in Rome: grilled meat and the cuts, pizza on three doughs, savoury breakfast from 8am, aperitivo and private parties. Written by the people who are on Viale Aventino every day.

The grill

Where our beef comes from, what it costs by weight, and why Prussian and Danish are priced the same. If you only read one, read the first.

Around the Circus Maximus

We are on Viale Aventino, two hundred metres from the Circus Maximus and five minutes from the Terme di Caracalla. What to see, where to stop before or after a concert, and how summer changes things when you eat outside.

Parties, events and the dates that come round

Rooms up to 400 square metres, an outdoor terrace, menus agreed in advance. How to put together a private party, and what we do on the dates that come round every year.
