As soon as it is official we will publish the details \u2014 date, format and line-up \u2014 and link them from here.<!-- TODO ROSSO: replace with the link to the confirmed Circus Maximus programme article --><\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<h2 id=\"ra-0-why-the-circus-maximus-and-not-a-p\">Why the Circus Maximus and not a piazza<\/h2>\n<p>It is the only space in the centre of Rome big enough to hold a crowd that size without closing the city. It is flat, it is open, and it has the Palatino as a backdrop \u2014 which is why the images travel.<\/p>\n<p>The concert is free and unticketed. That means no seats, no allocated places, and an arrival time that matters more than anything else.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ra-1-getting-there-and-getting-out\">Getting there and getting out<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Arrive early.<\/strong> The flat fills from mid-evening. If you want to be near the stage, plan to be there before dinner rather than after.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metro B, Circo Massimo stop.<\/strong> It serves the venue directly, and it is the first thing to close if the crowd builds. Have a walking plan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leaving takes an hour.<\/strong> Everyone moves at once and the streets funnel. Somewhere to sit down nearby is worth more than a taxi you will not get.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dress for standing still.<\/strong> January in Rome is cold once you stop moving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"ra-2-dinner-before-and-somewhere-warm-a\">Dinner before, and somewhere warm after<\/h2>\n<p>The sensible order is dinner first, concert second: eat at 9, walk down at 11, be in the open for midnight.
